Our Club
As a Junior club we have now been running for 6 seasons/years now, seeing as badminton is becoming increasingly popular within England we are a club embracing the nations love for the sport.
We first started in 2012 with Sue Jarvis our original lead coach, after a bumpy first year she made us a thriving club and soon she gave the reins to our current coaches who have made the club ever popular ever since.

Our Volunteers
At our club we have 5 coaches in total of whom all have different roles within the running of the club.
Dave Hambly - Level 2 Lead Coach - Chairman
Andy Peat - Level 2 Coach - Treasurer
Mike Burlace - Level 1 Coach - Secretary
Chris Hambly - Level 1 Coach - Vice Chairman and Lead Junior Liaison Officer
Shaun Cooper - Level 1 Coach - Assistant Junior Liaison Officer / Warm-up Specialist
All of our coaches are CRB/DBS checked and all have attended a Child Protection and Safeguarding course.
From that Dave Hambly is our designated Child Protection Officer with Chris Hambly being our Junior Liaison Officer.
These roles are in place so that if any players at the club have any issues they would like to raise then they speak to our Junior Liaison Officer first who then takes the matter further with Dave, we believe this is a better solution as Chris is still relatively young (compared to the other coaches anyway) and that the players would find it easier talking and explaining things through to him instead of the older coaches.
When teaching all our coaches are respected and that is the way we like to run the club, we are based upon no nonsense, but of course we include some fun game time and accept the odd bit of banter.
We pride ourselves on providing a great place to learn and be involved in badminton and also the local community.
All of the coaches are voluntary and give up their own time to come and coach.
All the money from the sessions goes straight back into the club for funding the cost of the: venue, equipment, prizes, trophies and for Sporting Insurance.
